  15. <p>    Would she or wouldn't she? After much waffling, 60 Minutes'
  16. Diane Sawyer finally signed off as a CBS News correspondent and
  17. segued to rival ABC last week. She was apparently upset, among
  18. other things, at not getting her own interview-style news
  19. program. ABC wooed and won her by promising just that, a new
  20. prime-time show she will co-anchor with Sam Donaldson. Says
  21. Donaldson of the prospective partnership: "The only way it will
  22. work is if the co-anchors are together in word, deed and
  23. spirit, like a marriage -- and not a shotgun marriage either."
  24. Sawyer will receive a salary of $1.5 million at ABC, up from
  25. $1.2 million. But even that will not make her ABC's
  26. highest-paid newswoman. That honor still belongs to 20/20's
  27. Barbara Walters.
